I emember watching the meltdown unfold on Letterman, and experiencing the same feelings expressed in the article. I thought this was an interesting read.

nice catch. a great article. kaufman was a genius, lawler played his part superbly as well. i never saw the movie, was it any good. not a big jim carey fan. mr

I probably couldn't stomach the movie, but I've re-watched the Letterman bit. It isn't as "shocking"as it was those many years ago, but still... I probably have a cassette of the show somewhere (complete with my reaction). No VCR then, but I frequently recorded the audio with a tape player. Sha-Na-Na was also a fav. I was also in love with Linda Ellerbee, or maybe it was the duck. And so it goes...
