A couple of weeks ago we took a roadtrip to Nevada, MO and found a couple of places with that appeared to have Amish goods for sale including honey. We went out of town North on Hwy 71 toward Rose Hill and found a couple of roadside shops also with honey for sale.

A nice day trip and a few jars of honey and sorghum syrup to boot.

Just a thought.

State Line Flea Market has locally produced honey. "George's", I believe.

I bought some once at the Pittsburg Farmer's market. It's been awhile, but I still have the jar. Label says "Darren Swartz 20510 Wallace Rd, Walnut, KS 66780. 620-754-3967"

I have also seen some in the shop that was formerly Longan's Floral- whatever it's called now.. across from WalMart.

You can get fresh honey from bees.
I know a few beekeepers in the area (Joplin and Oklahoma), however, most flea markets have local honey, but I don't know how fresh......... Local is good for allegeries......

Honey bees have been hurting the last 10 years or so. Bee mites are killing them off. It's a big problem and Bees have been brought in from other countries.

I remember a PSU algebra teacher of mine MANY years ago kept bees and he marketed his honey locally. His name was Sperry. Anybody remember that?
