Default Putin ignores Obama's warning.

http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/...A1R21M20140228

In short, there are serious consequences to electing such a weak and incompetent president who together with Sec of Defense, Chuck Hagel, have decimated our military. Basically, we are not respected by our allies and openly laughed at by our enemies. John Kerry, who has been long viewed as a traitor to the US, an appeaser and not the sharpest guy in the room, was appointed to Sec of State...another Obama blunder.

Not saying we should go to war, but Obama is an empty suit and Putin knows it and does what he pleases. We live in dangerous times.

Do you mean the empty suit who actually fulfilled GWBush's promise to get bin Laden? The one who is actually ending wars that have cost the US trillions of dollars, to what purpose? The one who is the leader of the party that actually supports veteran's benefits for the thousands of members of the military who have come home in boxes(families) or maimed physically and/or mentally and those trying to obtain some of what the recruiters promised, like a college education? That empty suit that now is trying to use diplomacy to avoid military action that would put us back into war? You are "not saying we should go to war" but your sentiments say otherwise

The Black Sea is "their" only warm water port, of course they'll march in to defend it. Crimea was a casually occupied territory, kind of like Hawaii was to us at one point. Yes, yes, Ukraine is a sovereign state, but so was Hawaii until we decided to overthrow the government "for their own good" or the business interests of a few select gentlemen.

With all due respect, 70, it really takes some nifty creative writing to spin Obama's disastrous presidency into something resembling a positive. Do you think Putin would pull these antics if we had a strong leader in the White House? Putin sees what the whole world sees-- an incompetent, corrupt and weak US president, and he knows he can do whatever he darn well pleases. No one is saying we should go to war, but if we had a president displaying strength, honesty and resolve, who was actually building up our military instead of depleting it, Putin would have thought twice about his actions. If Putin would have seen competence instead of one major scandal and blunder after another the past 6 years maybe things would be different right now.

In the 60s Khrushchev saw weakness in JFK following the Bay of Pigs fiasco which led to the Cuban Missile Crisis, but he quickly learned that JFK was no pushover. We live in very dangerous times largely because the leader of the free world is no leader whatsoever. Netenyahu certainly knows it as does China, Iran and N Korea. In short, our enemies give us the finger while our allies are just hoping to survive the final two years of Obama.

You mean Putin is ignore obama, well not quite as bad as
Leonid Brezhnev ignored Reagans warnings
Of course Reagan helped out the afghan rebels
and after training and arming them they attacked us on 9/11. and in various other places .

Actually most of our "allies" were giving us the finger through most of GWs term in the white house , they finally started talking to us again.

Fly, are you saying we need to show them a lesson like we did in Grenada?

Again, no one is saying we should go to war. The best scenario would have been to not be in this dangerous situation in the first place. We, and especially the citizens of Ukraine, ARE in this situation because Putin has always seen Obama for what he is-- an empty suit. The whole world knows by now that Obama is a joke and his "warnings" are laughable. Lots of saber rattling in places like China, N Korea, Iran, etc., because they see the same empty suit.

BTW, can someone enlarge my image in the original post above? I can't figure it out.

I don't think Putin cares who is in office, he knows we aren't going to attack them. He knows if we do anything it'll be economic sanctions which we are less likely to do because Europe relies on Russia for gas and other things.

They're no more afraid of the US than I am of ladybugs. I don't care who is supposedly driving the bus.

Any type of military intervention would be stupid IMO.

The Ukraine is right next door to Russia and we would be taking on a Superpower, near equal to our own military capability (maybe even superior by now?), right in their own back yard - and China is also right next door.

Both countries with military capabilities close to our own, both with the 'home field' advantage and both just barely on the "friendly" side with the United States.

No I have no doubt Fly meant what he said when he posted; "Again, no one is saying we should go to war...".

I don't care what kind of 'hawk' you are, you don't have to be a graduate of war college to know that would be a very bad idea all around.

But there was one thing many former presidents had that Obama seems to lack, and that was -perhaps- a touch of insanity... the kind of craziness that makes those threatening us consider; "He might just push that 'button', if we go too far".

IMO Obama is the next best thing to a pacifist, he wants to be everybody's "friend", he wants everyone to 'like' us and with the promise we will like them back ~

Kind of admirable in a way, but totally unrealistic the world doesn't work like that.

Again in my opinion, his seems to be a Utopian view of what someone would want to happen, what they are trying to make happen - without acknowledging (or even recognizing?) the other players in this little fantasy don't seem to have any intention of reciprocating.

Of course we aren't helping, a good portion of the United States don't like Obama's proposals and policies; no harm, no foul that's politics and it has always been that way... but this administration seems singularly unconcerned with how a sizable portion of the nation feels about things and Obama will continue to push through as many of the plans and programs on his list to the best of his ability, regardless of what Congress, that portion of the American people or the international community thinks.

It almost appears that he believes he is beyond reproach... If someone or something attempts to block any of his plans he will try to find a way to go around those obstacles instead of trying to present a case for why they may be necessary and beneficial - and that scares the hell out of me.
